Getting Started
How do I create a Slimpay account?
Register with your name, email, phone number, and a password — that's it to get started. A wallet is created immediately, though it holds a placeholder account number until you complete identity verification (see below). No paperwork, no waiting period to start exploring the app.
Why do I need to submit my NIN?
Your National Identification Number confirms it's really you before a real, fundable account number is issued. Until you verify, your wallet shows a placeholder account that can't receive money. Once your NIN is confirmed, a dedicated virtual account is opened under your verified name — the same way a bank account works.
Is there a fee to open a wallet?
No. Creating and holding a Slimpay wallet is completely free, with no minimum balance. See the pricing page for the few fees that do apply — withdrawals and payment links.
Wallet & Payments
How do I fund my wallet?
Transfer money from any bank to your dedicated Slimpay virtual account number, shown in the app once your identity is verified. Your balance updates automatically once the transfer is confirmed — typically within a few minutes.
Can I send money to another Slimpay user?
Yes — wallet-to-wallet transfers are instant and free. Look up the recipient by phone number or email and send directly from your balance.
How do I withdraw to my bank account?
From the wallet screen, choose Withdraw, pick your bank, and enter your account number. We show you the account name that number resolves to before you confirm, so you can catch a mistyped number before anything moves. A flat ₦25 fee applies.
What's the transaction PIN for?
A 4-digit PIN you set yourself, required on every transfer, withdrawal, and bill purchase. It's never visible to our support team, and you can change it any time from your account settings.
Bills & Utilities
Which networks and discos are supported?
Airtime and data across MTN, Airtel, Glo, and 9mobile. Electricity across AEDC, EKEDC, IKEDC, PHEDC, and other major discos. Cable TV for DStv, GOtv, and Startimes.
What if I enter the wrong meter number?
The app validates your meter number and shows the customer name on file before you pay, specifically so you can catch a mistyped number before spending anything.
Are there fees on bill payments?
No platform fee — you pay face value for airtime, data, electricity, and cable TV.
Schools & Billers
How do I pay my child's school fees?
Search for the school in the app, pick the fee category (tuition, hostel, levy, etc.), and pay directly from your wallet. You get an instant receipt with the student's name, class, and session.
How do I register my school or business as a biller?
Registration is free for both schools and billers — see the Business page for how each works, or head straight to onboarding from the homepage.
Security & Account
Is my money safe with Slimpay?
Every deposit is confirmed server-to-server with our banking partner before it credits your balance — never trusted from a notification alone. Your identity data is encrypted, and access to it is logged. See the full Security page for the specifics.
What if I lose my phone?
Log in from another device and change your password — every login issues its own token, so signing out on one device doesn't affect your session elsewhere. Contact us if you need help securing your account further.
